The Newport Beach City Council adopted a second substantial amendment to the 2020-21 Action Plan for the Federal Community Development Block Grant Program and rescinded and adopted a resolution on the Washington Street refuse bins.

The Newport Beach City Council on Tuesday amended its action plan for the upcoming year to identify activities and projects that prevent, prepare or respond to COVID-19 that will be funded by the federal community development block grant program.
Community development director Seimone Jurjis said the block grant program was intended to be used for prevention of COVID-19 and support of those affected by the coronavirus.

The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has increased to $30 million with a cash option of $21 million.
The winning numbers were: 11, 15, 37, 62, and 64. The Mega Ball drawn was 5 and the Megaplier was 2X
While no one across the country hit Tuesday’s $22 million jackpot, a pair of second-prize tickets matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball were sold.
A ticket bought in Missouri is worth $3 million because the winner spent an extra $1 for the Megaplier option. Meanwhile, a California ticket is valued at $194,546. California lottery prizes vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners. They differ from the fixed second prizes offered in other participating states.

MOUNT HOLLY - A fast-developing winter storm lashed New Jersey on Thursday, dumping up to 10 inches of snow within hours in some areas, making travel treacherous and adding another obstacle to the COVID-19 vaccination effort.
The winter storm slightly shifted overnight Thursday, raising expected snowfall totals and leading forecasters to predict a longer-duration storm that could create hazardous road conditions until at least Friday afternoon.
