Stuff like this: “B.C.’s taxpayer-supported debt is projected to be $71.6 billion at the end of fiscal years 2021-22, $82.8 billion at the end of 2022-23, and $92.7 billion at the end of 2023-24.”
That’s it? A measly $92.7 billion? Jeez, you couldn’t buy a Gordon Head bungalow for $92.7 billion. If you want to see real debt, compare B.C. to the federal government, whose Monday budget will push the national IOU to over $1 trillion. That’s with a T, as in Trudeau. ....

B.C. looking for input on 'flyover overpass' for Pat Bay Hwy

VICTORIA
The B.C. government is looking for public input on a proposed flyover overpass at the intersection of the Pat Bay Highway and Keating Cross Road in Central Saanich.
Currently, drivers who are heading northbound on the highway who want to turn westbound onto Keating Cross Road have to cross several lanes of oncoming highway traffic.
Every hour, hundreds of drivers need to turn left across heavy traffic on Highway 17 to get onto Keating Cross Road, causing safety issues and traffic bottlenecks, said the B.C. government in an update Wednesday.
To eliminate the dangerous turn, the province plans to install a flyover overpass in the area, and create a new southbound on-ramp onto the highway from Keating Cross Road. ....

Another resident and unit involved in COVID outbreak in Nanaimo seniors home

The outbreak that had been contained to one unit has spread to two, both on the first floor of the facility. All visits, admissions and transfers to the care home have stopped.
Island Health said the new case was detected through mass testing this week. All residents and more than 130 staff have been tested.
Still, health officials have not been able to find the origin of the outbreak. It’s the first outbreak on the Island where a patient has tested positive first. Officials suspect a staff member brought the virus into the facility, as has been the case elsewhere. ....
