Ford, GM, slew of Michigan corporations denounce Senate Republican voting bills

Ford and General Motors joined more than 30 Michigan corporations to denounce voting bills introduced by the Michigan Senate, calling them an attempt to curb voting by “historically disenfranchised communities.”
The corporations released a joint statement Tuesday, April 13 criticizing the 39-bill package introduced by Michigan Senate Republicans last month, as well as a potential ballot petition. Th statement comes as the state Legislature returns from spring break, with plans to begin deliberating the bills at a Senate Elections Committee hearing Wednesday at 2 p.m. ....

LANSING, MI - Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has made it clear: voting bills introduced in the Michigan Senate aren’t getting past her desk.
Democrats blasted the 39 bill package introduced last week, particularly controls on the mail-in ballot process. Republicans pitched the package with the slogan “easier to vote, harder to cheat,” which Whitmer and liberal activists aren’t buying. ....
