Kiwi cricketers and coaching staff left Covid ravaged India on a chartered private jet.
A group of Kiwi cricketers and coaches who fled Covid-ravaged India arrived in Auckland aboard a private jet on Saturday night.
The cricketers who landed just after 8pm on Saturday at Auckland Airport left India after the Indian Premier League was suspended.
In the past week the country has experienced an average of nearly 400,000 cases per day, while 238,000 people have died in India of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
The group of cricketers travelled on a Bombardier Global Express private jet via Tokyo, in the first of two chartered flights repatriating players. They went into managed isolation upon arrival and a second flight was expected to leave India on Saturday night. ....

Having provided in-service support to the UK Royal Air Force’s (RAF’s) tactical airlifter fleet for a remarkable 55 years, Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group (MADG) knew that their relationship on the Lockheed Martin C-130 could not last forever.
But the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD’s) March announcement that operations with the service’s remaining 14 J-model Hercules would come to an end in 2023 – 12 years earlier than previously planned – nonetheless came as “disappointing news” to the Cambridge airport-based company.

Super wealthy Indians hired six private jets to beat red list deadline

At least six private jets flew from India to London with super wealthy families paying more than £100,000 to beat today s 4am Covid-19 red list deadline. 
A fleet of jets flew from Ahmedabad, Dehli and Mumbai into London Luton airport - with one aircraft touching down just 40 minutes before the deadline was imposed. 
Desperate passengers chartered the aircraft from Qatar, Germany, Malta and one belonging to a private owner.
