May 28—Mayor Tab Bowling wants to double the amount of mowing and trimming along Beltline Road Southwest and U.S. 31 South while beginning daily litter pickup along the two major Decatur corridors. Bowling is proposing a pilot program in which the city would pay an independent contractor to have four employees pick up trash year-round and begin weekly mowing and trimming of the two routes. ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - District 6 in Dougherty County is about to get a spring cleaning. Next Saturday, the county is partnering with Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful in the effort.
This is a first-time trash roundup for this district, but Commissioner Anthony Jones hopes to make it an annual event.
“We’re going to furnish the bags, we’re going to furnish the pickup sticks. We’re going to furnish everything that you need to clean up for spring,” Jones said. ....

CHESHIRE — The Coalition for a Sustainable Cheshire’s latest project is a month-long observance of Earth Day called The Great Global (solo) Trash Pick-Up.
