Sioux Falls man gets 10 years in federal prison for child pornography

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) A Sioux Falls man is sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.
Eric Wallace Hedrick, 47, was sentenced Monday by Federal District Judge Karen E. Schreier.
The judge enhanced his sentence because of a prior sexual offense conviction in 2006.
Hedrick was turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

Bill to support sexual violence survivors signed into law


WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden signed into law the Victims of Crime Act fix to sustain the Crime Victims Fund Act, legislation U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster (D-N.H.) helped introduce to shore up the depleted resources of the Crime Victims Fund and ensure survivors of sexual violence get the support and assistance they need. This new law will prevent drastic cuts to New Hampshire programs that support crime victims.
“I have been proud to champion this legislation that averts a truly disastrous situation by providing critical reinforcement to the Crime Victims Fund and VOCA programs,” said Rep. Kuster. “As founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Task Force to End Sexual Violence, I have talked with countless survivors about how critical it is to have support as you heal and rebuild your life after experiencing trauma.
