State Rep. Justin Humphrey, R-Lane, has spent much of the summer sounding the alarm over Oklahomaâs prison understaffing problem.
On June 18 he asked Gov. Kevin Stitt to declare a state of emergency, arguing that low staffing numbers have elevated the risk of riots and violence in state prisons. Bartholomew County Jail's drug treatment program graduates 22

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Jail’s drug treatment program recently graduated 22 individuals and five mentors from its BART Treatment Program Cohort.
BART is an acronym for Begin, Accept, Reveal, and Transform. Those core components are used throughout treatment by therapists who use evidence-based practice.
“By turning a portion of the Bartholomew County Jail into a drug treatment facility, we created the ability to treat inmates,” said Sheriffâs Chief Deputy Major Chris Lane. “I am proud of these men and women.”
Using the Matrix Model for Criminal Justice Systems, participants are provided more than 400 hours of group and individual treatment. The minimum treatment period is 12 weeks. ....
