Michael J. Fox reflects on the progress made in ultimately finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease


Since publicly disclosing his 1991 diagnosis and launching the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson s Research in 2000, actor Michael J. Fox, 59, has been an advocate in the crusade to find a cure. 
Partnered with Shake It Up Australia Foundation, an aggressively funded research agenda to the value of over $15million (AUD), has ensured not only the fight to find a cure, but also the development of improved therapies for those with the disease.   
In a statement to Daily Mail Australia for World Parkinson s Day, this Sunday April 11, Michael said he s absolutely certain they are tip of the spear in finding a cure.  ....

Cahill gets Order of Australia for Olympic football contribution

World Cup footballer Tim Cahill, who played a starring role for his country at the 2004 Athens Olympics, has been awarded an Order of Australia (AO) in today’s Australia Day honours list.
Cahill, 41, who represented Australia at four FIFA World Cup Finals during a 15-year career that earned him 108 caps, surprised many in the game when he chose to represent his country in Athens, where he helped the Socceroos reach the quarter-finals.
At that point in his career Cahill played football for England and had just transferred from Millwall to Everton in the Premier League.
Tim Cahill’s career in football is extraordinary and this honour is very much deserved, said John Coates, President of the Australian Olympic Committee. ....
