A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect in Northeast Ohio through Tuesday at 1 p.m. Some parts of the area could see up to 14 inches of snow before it s all over. 
We re no strangers to winter weather, but there s a bit of a hitch when a lot of seniors need to get out and about to get their vaccines. Just under 60% of 80 year olds have received at least one dose and under 37% of 70 to 79 year olds have received theirs, so a lot of providers are still working through the those ....

CHARDON, Ohio (WOIO) - Some people in our area are upset about how the vaccine is being given out and to whom.
Many are wondering why some getting it before others, including some at the Geauga County Correctional Facility.
In a press release dated January 22, 2021, Geauga County Health Commissioner, Tom Quade was asked why he made the decision to hold a vaccination clinic at the Geauga County Correctional facility for correction officers and inmates before one was held for residents 80 years and older. Second phase of COVID-19 vaccine rolls out in counties


Just days after the second phase of the coronavirus vaccine rollout in Northeast Ohio, officials from local health boards, hospitals and pharmacies coordinating the effort expressed concern about the possibility of demand being higher than the limited supply.
Phase 1B began on Monday with Ohioans ages 80 and older. There are no walk-up clinics, officials cautioned. All vaccines locally and statewide are being done by appointment only.
On Tuesday, the vaccine was well received when people waiting their turn applauded as University Hospitals of Cleveland began inoculating members of the general public at its Management Services Center in Shaker Heights.
“It’s been a fun day,” UH Chief Operating Officer Dr. Robyn Strosaker said of the first day of vaccinations for non-employees. “The people are just so excited. There are cheers and clapping and this is what we’re here for.” ....

Geauga County Starts Covid-19 Vaccine Pre-Registration Website

Geauga Public Health is allowing people in certain groups to be notified as soon as they re eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine. The county started a vaccination pre-registration website which allows people to identify themselves as a member of a group that is prioritized to receive the vaccine. Once they are eligible to receive the vaccine and the county has enough doses, Geauga Public Health will reach out to schedule a vaccination appointment. According to the county health department, they ve received a total of 400 doses so far; enough to vaccinate 200 people of the 93,000 people in Geauga County. ....
