WESH 2 News looked into the organization that helps others help themselves.
Angel Lopez, 50, has been blind for more than half his life.
"I am totally blind. I don't have eyes, I had an accident 25, 27 years ago," said Lopez, a supply chain fulfillment specialist.
Yet, he's been processing thousands of decompression needles for the government's Defense Logistics Agency, and these aren't just any kind of needles.

Florida to resume usage of Johnson & Johnson vaccine

Health advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention voted to recommend resuming the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine."I think overall it's the right thing to do. I mean the risk is very, very, very small. I mean for the people that got it, I mean you know it's bad, but's it's a very, very small risk," Seminole County Medical Director Dr. Todd Husty said.Husty says that's similar to the risks associated with any other vaccine. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine was associated with the risk of rare blood clots. There were 15 cases, 13 of which were in women under the age of 50 and three of them fatal."I would imagine that women of childbearing years, OK, which goes all the way up to 55 -- they're the ones that were affected and I think a women of childbearing years has to think twice about J&J versus the other alternatives," Husty said.An updated warning will be added to the label."Less than 40% of the entire population in Seminole County have immunity and that's not good because that means less than 60% does not have immunity. We're trying to beat this thing," Husty said.Nine million doses of Johnson & Johnson are ready to go."Vaccines are the way out of this, I mean they really are and if we all think about that, we need a way out of this. This has been the devil and we need to get rid of the devil," Husty said. The Seminole County government and the Health Department released the following statement Friday:"With the CDC and FDA lifting their pause of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, Seminole County will resume usage of the vaccine for homebound vaccinations, as long as the individual consents to that vaccine. If the individual would prefer another option, Pfizer or Moderna will be offered in its stead."
