Pahlisch Commercial, Inc., a real estate developer based in Bend, wants to raze the Kellogg Bowl building on the 1.94-acre piece of land at the northern end of Milwaukie s downtown district east of Southeast Main Street, according to land-use applications for the Henley Place apartment building submitted to the city.
Kellogg Bowl owners Bill Oetken and Champ Husted, along with bowling alley General Manager Roxanne Oetken, wrote in December that they were broken hearted to have to announce the alley s permanent closure after a 58-year run. Mayor Sam Pulliam tells the Oregon governor that a coalation of businesses in extreme risk counties will soon defy her COVID-19 restrictions.
The town of Sandy s mayor has announced his intentions to not only defy state-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, but his backing of a coalition which encourages businesses to do the same.
Mayor Stan Pulliam wrote Oregon Gov. Kate Brown an open letter Thursday, Dec. 17, calling the rules limiting business and social activities arbitrary, and said the restrictions have bankrupted family businesses and sent our neighbors to spiral into depression and anxiety.
The letter states that on Jan. 1, 2021, members of the coalition in counties labeled Extreme Risk will voluntary comply with the less restrictive High Risk measures, which will allow restaurants and gyms to open at a significantly reduced capacity.
