El Rio, a beloved Mission dive bar, is back in service after nearly a year of temporary closure.
Last Thursday, the popular bar reopened its doors for takeout service only where it plans to sell 16-ounce mixed cocktails and other alcoholic beverages along with assorted tamales by Frisco Pink from Friday through Sunday. SFist first reported the opening.
“I think we really miss[ed] our community,” said Lynne Angel, general manager at El Rio. “Even though it s in a limited capacity right now, it was great to see folks come through and support this past weekend.” ....
