Graça F° recently met with delegations from Kenya and Chile, in addition to the Indian Olympic Association President (IOA), International Hockey Federation (FIH) President and IOC Member, Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra, at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 volleyball and beach volleyball venues.

High performance 90-day Volleyball Empowerment pilot project helps elevate Kenya women’s national team technical performance
The Kenya women’s national volleyball team recently opened their third Olympic Games campaign with resilient displays against Japan and South Korea after participating in a 90-day Volleyball Empowerment high performance coaching pilot project in the lead up to Tokyo 2020.
The Kenya team, also known as the Malkia Strikers, were chosen for the pilot project as part of the FIVB’s revolutionary new Volleyball Empowerment programme which aims to improve the performance of national teams and players in volleyball and beach volleyball around the world.

Malkia Strikers will have to wait until later this week to know the fate of another tour they had planned for Turkey next month as they intensify their preparations for the Tokyo Olympics.
On Saturday, the government called off a pre-tournament camp in Brazil leaving the Turkey tour in limbo.

The planned trip by Kenya Women’s national volleyball team Malkia Strikers to Brazil has been called off by the Government.
The Ministry of Health turned down a request on Saturday by the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) to have the team pitch a 45-day camp in Brazil as part of the team’s preparation for the forthcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
“Brazil is currently experiencing widespread community transmission of Covid-19 with a surge in cases and deaths in the past few weeks.
A review of the situation in Brazil indicates that the current surge may persist for several weeks.

Members of the technical team seconded by Brazil to assist Kenya women's volleyball team to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics.The coaches include Head Coach - Luizomar de Moura – who is the head coach of the Brazilian Team Osasco Volleyball Club and the former national youth coach of Brazil , Assistant Coach, Jefferson Arosti, Strength & Conditioning Trainer, Marcelo Vitorino de Souza, and Team Manager Roberto Opice Neto.[Standard Sports]
The National Women’s Volleyball team Malkia Strikers on Tuesday received technical coaches from Brazil who will assist the team in preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.
The inclusion of the technical coaches in the team is part of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Empowerment Program, in collaboration with Kenya Volleyball Federation and Olympics Kenya.

• So impressive were Malkia Strikers that they managed to beat Cameroon in their own backyard on the road to Tokyo.
• Seasoned rivals, Cameroon, drop to second with 171 points while the North African duo of Algeria and Egypt are third and fourth respectively as Senegal close the top five places.
National women's volleyball team Malkia Strikers have dethroned Cameroon at the top of the continental standings following the latest CAVB rankings released on Sunday.
Being the sole African representatives in the quadrennial games this year, Kenya was named the best after accumulating 180 points.
