Jack Stevenson, president of Mid-Cape Home Centers, has been chosen as his industry s Person of the Year in honor of his significant contributions to the lumber and building materials industry and the local community.
For Jack, life in the industry began like so many others: in the family lumber yard. His father bought a small yard in Bayfield, Wisconsin when Jack was just 12. Only a couple of years later, Jack started working there loading and unloading trucks by hand. “No forklift,” he notes. “All my life it has been lumber, lumber, lumber.” ....

A mammoth whale that was captured by Captain Nickerson off the coast of Cape Cod in 1888 was embalmed and taken on a tour of northeastern America.
