The fundraising luncheon, a staple in local community calendars, continues to sell out year on year delivering a one-of-a-kind experience for all who attend, and this year was no exception. The luncheon raised over CI$59,000 for the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre supporting women, men and children impacted by domestic violence. ....

Crisis Centre opens registration for annual Walk in Her Shoes event

The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC) has opened registration for the 6th Annual ‘A Walk In Her Shoes’ which will take place from 5:00pm on Thursday April 22 2021 on Market Street at Camana Bay. This event aims to raise funds and awareness for the Crisis Centre and our mission to end the cycle of domestic violence.
Gentlemen are encouraged to participate to help raise funds for the shelter by wearing heels to ‘walk in her shoes’. Individuals and local companies come together at this event to help raise awareness of the CICC and our continued efforts to provide support for local victims, as domestic violence does not discriminate against age, gender, race, ethnicity, economic status or sexual orientation. ....

RCIPS FSU Receives Donation From Rotary Sunrise For DV Training

The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise is sponsoring officers from the RCIPS Family Support Unit in a diploma level training course in Domestic Abuse & Violence Awareness.
The donation, which will be used to pay tuition for the course, was presented by Rotary Sunrise president Stacy Parke to FSU Inspector Dausea Scott and Detective Constable Patricia Sevik at the Rotary Sunrise weekly morning meeting on Wednesday, 2 December.
“One of our main roles in the Family Support Unit is investigating cases involving domestic violence, and offering support to those affected,” said Inspector Scott. “We are grateful to Rotary Sunrise for this donation, which will help our team build upon the tools and training that we already possess, and help us strengthen the service that we provide ....
