KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo city officials announced Monday that City Hall will now offer expanded hours, starting now.
As of Monday, May 10, the lobby of Kalamazoo City Hall will be open to the public from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The City Clerk’s Office and Treasury will be open to the public during these hours, but other offices at City Hall will remain available by appointment only.
To schedule an appointment, community members can call 311 or (269) 337-8000.
The main entrance off South Street will also be reopened.
Masks and social distancing will continue to be required while inside City Hall. ....

According to the International Association for Premenstrual Disorders, it was one of 41 buildings and landmarks around the world to do so throughout April, including CN Tower in Toronto, Bell Tower in Perth, Edinburgh Castle in Scotland and Muiderslot Castle in the Netherlands.
PMDD is a suspected genetic disorder, according to the association, and can cause debilitating depression, irritability, mood swings and other symptoms in the one to two weeks before the menstrual period each month. 
“It all starts with awareness. A spark,  Sandi MacDonald, co-founder and executive director of the IAPMD, said. When we join together we can do so much. I think the PMDD community is the best example of this in action. We are not alone anymore, and that is our greatest power.” ....
