DICKINSON CENTER It is unimaginable sadness we share the unexpected passing of Tesa M. Sweet (50), beloved daughter of Michael and Veronica (Wait) Sweet of Dickinson Center, NY. Tesa passed on January 8, 2021 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vt.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, NY. Following with her families wishes and COVID restrictions services will be held in the spring.
Tesa was born in Malone, on June 9, 1970 and graduated from St. Regis Falls High School. She attended SUNY Potsdam and Cazenovia College earning an associates degree. She worked for 30 plus years in the architectural field and was an irreplaceable Senior Designer and Acting Project Manager at Beardsley Design Assoc. in Malone, Syracuse, and Auburn NY. ....

Redhouse Arts Center Artistic Director Hunter Foster will be leaving the center in January 2021 after his position was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.Lauren Long

Syracuse, N.Y. The Redhouse Arts Center has put its theater operations on pause for the “foreseeable future” because of the coronavirus pandemic and suspended its artistic director position until live stage performances can resume.
The center said in a statement Tuesday that it has “made the difficult decision to pause its theater operations for the foreseeable future.” As a result, its artistic director, Broadway veteran Hunter Foster, will be leaving the organization in early January 2021, it said. ....

Cazenovia College delays start of spring semester to avoid post-holiday Covid-19 surge

The school announced today that classes will begin Feb. 1 instead of Jan. 19.
“We want to provide students, faculty, staff, and the college community with the safest conditions nationally and avoid a possible surge after holiday gatherings,” college President Ron Chesbrough said in a prepared statement.
He said Cazenovia’s strict safety protocols for the fall term allowed the college to successfully complete a full 14 weeks of in-person on-campus instruction. During the fall semester the college tested a sampling of students every two weeks.
During the fall semester, 10 Cazenovia College students and four employees tested positive for the virus. The college has 865 students. ....
