START Bus’ summer schedule went into effect Saturday, with extended service hours for the more popular routes, including between Jackson and Teton Village, and Town Shuttle routes.
Gay Lynn Byrd couldnât quite recall the last time sheâd laid eyes on the Tetons, but her best guess was that it had been nearly 30 years. Hailing from Douglas, the Wyoming Game and Fish commissioner was certain of something else: Sheâd never seen a wild wolf. That changed last week. âWe ranch, so we see livestock and wildlife all the time, but just to see it with the Tetons is great,â Byrd said. âThis was the first time Iâd seen a wolf in the wild. âNow we just have the keep them up here,â the 60-year-old added, âbecause we donât want them.â

Written by Andrew-Rossi on February 15, 2021 There are several weather-related obstacles for Cody traffic to avoid on the Greybull Hill – but construction barrels won’t be among them for another week. Cody’s sudden turn into sub-zero temperatures has delayed the intended start of the final phase of the Sheridan Avenue rehabilitation project. WYDOT announced that the intended start of Phase 3 of the project – Tuesday, Feb. 16 – has been postponed due to the well-below freezing temperatures that gripped Cody last week and may continue into the rest of February/. 17 “Construction” begins on Monday, Feb. 22. Until then, traffic patterns on 17 th Street will remain the same.
Sheridan Avenue Construction Resumes on February 16 Written by Andrew-Rossi on February 5, 2021 They moved on thru Sheridan Avenue – and now they take it higher. After a brief break, the final phase of construction on the Sheridan Avenue rehabilitation project is set to resume in mid-February. WYDOT and primary contractor S&S Builders of Gillette will resume where things were left off: heading up 17 th Street to the end of the road – metaphorically – at Stampede Avenue. The scope of the project is unchanged – concrete slab replacement, curb and gutter, double gutter, sidewalk and ADA upgrades from Stampede Avenue to Draw Street on the west half of 17th Street.
December bookings at Jackson Hole hotels are slightly ahead of last year, so far. Christmas poses some questions and the rest of the winter doesnât look that great, but again, so far. Thanks to the pandemic, itâs more difficult than usual to make predictions, even about business already on the books. Throughout the pandemic, travelers have waited to make reservations until close to their departure, and thatâs not changing. âPeople are still booking last minute,â said Jeremy Wildgoose, general manager at Huff House Inn and Cabins. âThatâs the trend thatâs continued from last summer.â And with COVID-19 surges prompting new restrictions around the country, hoteliers see another trend: Customers changing their plans.
Written by Andrew-Rossi on December 15, 2020 Construction season ends on Sheridan Avenue as the colder temperatures and snowy weather of the winter season settles into Cody. Phase 2 of the Sheridan Avenue rehabilitation project concludes due to the persistent winter weather currently enveloping Cody. In the last weekly update of 2020, WYDOT and primary contractor S&S Builders of Gillette announced that all the construction equipment and traffic controls were removed Monday and will not be back in place for several months. This means that normal traffic patterns and speed limits return throughout the construction zone, which by conclusion had gotten a little further than anticipated. The milder weather of early December gave construction crews a chance to get a head start on next spring’s work, moving past the Phase 2 endpoint at Alger Avenue and moving up Greybull Hill.
