The Tasmanian Government today released the Vessel Replacement Taskforce’s report and the preferred course of action for the vessel replacement.
Following consideration of the Vessel Replacement Taskforce report the Tasmanian Government has made the decision to enter negotiations with Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) to deliver two new steel monohull vessels with increased Tasmanian local content.
Premier Peter Gutwein said the taskforce was established to explore how we could give Tasmanian businesses a larger share and more local content supporting local jobs when it comes to the most significant Government infrastructure spend of the last decade. ....

Bushfire recovery grants available for Snowy Monaro projects
Thanks to a grant from the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund to Snowy Monaro Regional Council, funding from $1000-5000 is available for suitable small-scale community activities.
Funded by disaster recovery arrangements between the Commonwealth and State governments, applications are open now through until 9 April 2021 and the community is encouraged to apply.
Projects need to meet specified Disaster Recovery Outcomes to qualify for grant funding. These are:
• The needs of vulnerable groups are addressed in disaster recovery
• The community is aware of the disaster recovery processes
• The community can express its changing disaster recovery needs ....

Telly addicts is not just classic British TV programming it also is an accurate state of mind as research from LG Electronics UK has revealed that the average viewer in the country spends a 4.1 hours per day watching content that there was absolutely no barrier to pay for.
The study explored the British public’s spending and saving habits during lockdown, revealing the cost-per-use of everyday items and found that while Brits were more than happy buying blockbuster original content that was available across the many streaming sites, they were spending a disproportionately lower amount on the actual TV itself. Indeed, it calculated that over the course of an average TV’s lifespan, the cost works out at just £5.46 per month, whilst content and broadband set people back £71 per month. ....
