FZN Senior Sophia Brinker recently committed to Ripon College, located in Ripon, Wisconsin, to play volleyball for the Red Hawks. Brinker was a multi-year letter winner while at Fort Zumwalt North, playing both right and middle hitter for the Panthers this past fall. In addition to her time playing at FZN, Brinker gained additional experience in the sport through club volleyball, playing nine years on the club circuit most recently with the St. Peter s Storm. Brinker also helps coach youth volleyball for the Wentzville Heat. An honor-student with a full load of AP course work, Brinker was a two-time member of the conference All-Academic team. ....

Scheduling in the middle of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has proven to become a difficult challenge.
This past Friday evening was a case in point as the Class 4 Ste. Genevieve High School boys’ basketball team played Class 6 Fort Zumwalt North at Peggy J. Johnson Gymnasium.
“They are a very big team,” said Ste. Genevieve head coach Robert Coleman. “They are tall with a lot of size, and they outrebounded us.”
Coleman said the Panthers, in turn, were able to score points in transition with outlet passes leading to layups.
Fort Zumwalt North’s front court averages 6-feet, 8-inches in height so this was truly a “tall task” for the hometown Dragons. ....
