Accountants in Kentucky and Tennessee can earn up to four hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits through the WKU CPE Program for Accountants sponsored by the Gordon Ford College of Business Department of Accounting.
The program will take place on Wednesday, May 26, via Zoom. The half-day program begins at 8 a.m. and ends at noon.
“We are excited about the opportunity to resurrect our CPE program.  While not an ideal delivery method, the virtual format does allow for a sharing of information on various topics in a convenient and economical manner,” said Dr. Mark Ross, department chair. ....

Historic home owners say they have not been contacted about Confederate marker's relocation

Standing at 1320 Park St., the stately Federal-style columns of the Grider House, hidden mostly from view by thick foliage, are home to a largely forgotten history.
The home, named for Union Army Col. John Hobson Grider – no known relation to the Hobson House – is said to have been where the provisional government of the Confederacy met when it briefly occupied and named Bowling Green as its state capital during the Civil War.
According to its current residents and homeowners, Dr. Gordon Newell and Regina Newell, the effective Confederate state Capitol building hosted notable names like John C. Breckinridge – the native Kentuckian and Confederate general who was once the 14th vice president, serving under the embattled one-term President James Buchanan and the predecessor of President Abraham Lincoln. ....

“When we began that, we said that we would remain committed to restoring those as soon as it was fiscally feasible to do so,” Caboni told the university’s Board of Regents on Friday during the group’s fourth-quarter meeting. “Today, I’m very pleased to announce – due to the hard work and persistence of faculty, the way in which we reduce spending, our self-discipline on searches and positions – that all university-wide centralized salary reductions implemented in response to the COVID pandemic will end this month.” ....
