She had her share of doubters. The program had never done it. Winning national championships was something they did at Maryland and Northwestern. Walker-Weinstein and Boston College came within one win of proving them wrong in the last three full seasons, appearing in three consecutive title games. BC lost each one. But Sunday was different. Playing in its fourth-straight national championship game, No. 4 Boston College finally kicked the door down, beating No. 3 Syracuse, 16-10. ....
After finishing as the runner-up in each of the previous three title games, the Eagles were able to win the national championship this time around. ....

Hyped as a contender for game of the season (for good reason), Thursday evening’s ACC matchup between No. 3 Syracuse and No. 4 Boston College at the Carrier Dome was an all-out slugfest of national contenders. But it was the Eagles, fueled by Charlotte North who else? that earned the type of win indicative of a team peaking at the right time. Jenn Medjid scored the game-winner with 1:04 left and Rachel Hall made an athletic stop on the doorstep with 43 seconds left as the Eagles held on for a 14-13 win. ....

If you came into Thursday evening’s ACC bout between No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 5 Boston College to be a back-and-forth affair befitting the nature of a typical top-five matchup, then the final result was certainly surprising. Boston College began the game on a blistering six-goal run and scored nine of the first 11 tallies, cruising to a 19-11 win in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Freshman Belle Smith led Boston College with six points (four goals, two assists), and Charlotte North recorded four goals, one assist and 11 draw controls. Rachel Hall made 11 saves. ....
