AN E-SCOOTER seized in Worcester will be crushed after it was used illegally.
It has led to West Mercia Police reminding the public that e-scooters are subject to the same rules as other motor vehicles other than in areas where they are part of a government trial.

A stunned homeowner woke up to find over 100 e-scooters outside his house - after it was made an official parking spot without him knowing
Baffled Shane Clarke, 60, opened his front door on Saturday morning to find an e-scooter pile-up outside his property in a posh suburb in Bristol.
Retired medic Shane said people had been leaving some Voi scooters outside his house at the top of Elm Lane off Whiteladies Road for a while.
But he suspects other locations may have been removed from a list of designated scooter parking spots from an official app.
He thinks his house is now the only option to leave scooters in the area. ....

E-scooters were back in the headlines yesterday after a dangerous driver was prosecuted in Bolton for riding one after a driving ban.
34-year-old Kyle Lowthian was spotted using the Qings Wing electric scooter, which he claimed to have bought for his son s birthday, by a police officer on Outwood Road, Radcliffe at 11.10pm on November 18 last year.
At the time Lowthian was already banned from driving following a police chase on August 9 last year.
Yesterday (21 April), he was sentenced at Bolton Crown Court and given 10 months in prison, suspended for two years during which he will have to participate in a thinking skills programme and three days of rehabilitation activities. ....

Gloucestershire has been placed in Tier 2 Covid-19 restrictions by the Government, it has been announced.
The county had been in Tier 2 coronavirus restrictions following the second national lockdown and will remain in the same risk level following a review.
It means that the area is still considered a ‘high’ risk area.
The Government will be reviewing the tiers every two weeks and areas can move up or down the scale.
