Pérez re-elected Paraguayan Olympic Committee President
Camilo Pérez López Moreira has been re-elected President of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP).
Pérez, who became an International Olympic Committee (IOC) member in 2018, stood unopposed for the role at the organisation s General Assembly.
He has held the position since 2011 and is set to continue as COP President beyond the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Julio Ferrari and Roberto Escobar were elected COP vice-presidents during the meeting, while Juan Orihuela was appointed secretary general.
Pérez is also a member of the International Tennis Federation Board and the Association of National Olympic Committees Executive Council. ....

Turkey could help Ghana prepare for its hosting of the African Games after a meeting was held between officials from both countries.
Accra is poised to host the multi-sport event in 2023 but Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) President Ben Nunoo Mensah has admitted facilities may not be ready in time for an effective 18 months of training and preparation.
Mensah appointed Mohammed Mahadi, the third vice-president of the GOC and the President of the Ghana Fencing Federation, as the head of an international relations committee tasked with forging links with more advanced countries. ....
