Cockrill speaks on value-added agriculture

Mr. Speaker, thank you for recognizing me and I appreciate the opportunity to rise in this House today to bring forward a motion which I will be formally moving at the conclusion of my remarks here today.
Mr. Speaker, before moving to Saskatchewan I had the opportunity to work for a number of years in the agriculture sector in British Columbia. Working in both the greenhouse and the field vegetable sectors gave me the opportunity to see a number of different operations. At both of the operations where I worked, we worked relentlessly to capture more and more of the value chain to make our operations more profitable. ....

Covid-19 vaccines start today - BVI Beacon

Ten people, including Governor John Rankin and Minister for Health and Social Development Carvin Malone, led by example by receiving the first of 8,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine that arrived in the territory this week.
An array of officials queued up to receive jabs during a press conference at Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital, included Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration Vincent Wheatley and Speaker of the House Julian Willock, Leader of the Opposition Marlon Penn and Fourth District Representative Mark Vanterpool. ....
