January 23, 2021
Airline workers are grateful for the extension of a relief program that brought thousands of frontline aviation workers back on the job, IAM International President Robert Martinez Jr. said on a virtual call with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). “Without this much needed relief, our airline membership faced dire economic consequences,” said Martinez. “Many didn’t know how they were going to pay their mortgage or rent and put food on the table.” ....

Publication of racist, transphobic and anti-immigrant comments sparks public outrage
All five Multnomah County Commissioners are now calling for the resignation of Clackamas County Commissioner Mark Shull following publication of his social media comments representing Islamophobic, anti-immigrant and transphobic views.
Shull was elected in a close race in November over incumbent Ken Humberston and took office on Jan. 4.

Pamplin Media Group - Our Opinion: Thankfully, Oregon's delegation is safe

A high school history teacher spoke with sadness, saying that America has made many mistakes over the centuries, some of them horrific, but we could always say we got this one thing right: the peaceful transition of power. And now, I guess, we don t get to say that anymore. ....
