Bar Harbor Bank & Trust's employee giving program reaches $100,000 milestone

Vermont Business Magazine Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s employee giving program, Casual for a Cause, recently surpassed the $100,000 mark of total donations made to nonprofit organizations since the program launched in 2018. More than 53 organizations across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont have received donations through the program.
Casual for a Cause gives Bank employees the opportunity to dress casually on Fridays in exchange for a bi-weekly payroll deduction made to a pool of funds collected during each quarter. The employees then vote on the nonprofits to receive their contributions. The program is entirely voluntary, and each employee sets his/her own level of giving. Approximately 2/3 of the Bank’s employees participate in Casual for a Cause. ....

DELPHOS This year’s Tri-County Woman of the Year speaks softly and
smiles often. She loves her community and makes sure the foundation
named for her late husband keeps his legacy of caring alive.

Gallmeier, a retired nurse, former school board member and First Lady of
Delphos while her husband served as Delphos Mayor, said her husband’s
need to help his fellow man “rubbed off” on her. She now heads the
Michael Gallmeier Foundation, which holds a food distribution every
other month for those living in the Delphos City School District. ....

Akroydon Primary Academy’s festive fundraiser for Overgate Hospice
On the last day of term Akroydon Primary Academy had a fantastic time taking part in The Overgate Reindeer Run.

Pupils were dressed as reindeer, complete with antlers and red noses, running laps around the school playground to raise much needed funds for Overgate Hospice. Each class participated in turn running throughout their break time.
Using the power of social media, one pupil raised an astonishing £1,010. Being so impressed with her efforts to fundraise, Maisie’s dad posted about the Reindeer Run charity event on his social media accounts, leading to a flood of donations from his network of family and friends. ....
