ARTICLE 19, has for many years campaigned for a right to access information held by public and private bodies as a basic human right. We believe that public these bodies have an obligation to disclose information and that every member of the public has a corresponding right to receive information. Access to information enhances democracy and participation, reduces wrongdoing and leads to better public policies and practices.

The International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) has launched its Annual Report 2020. Data analysed for the report shows a huge commitment from donors and NGOs to improve the transparency of their spending related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the onset of the pandemic, IATI recognised the urgent need for open data on the responses to the crisis by international development and humanitarian communities. The initiative called for organisations to publish data on COVID-19-related funding using IATI s data standard and issued new guidance on how to do this in March 2020. ....

Lux reliable on development aid: ranking - Delano - Luxembourg in English

Luxembourg’s development assistance is reliable and the country scores highly on results-based management of its funds in an international ranking, but it could do better on prioritising payments and transparency.
The Quality of Official Development Assistance (QuODA) report measures and compares development aid providers multilateral organisations and countries on their effectiveness and quality.
In the 2021 edition of the report, Luxembourg ranked 22nd overall, out of a list of 49 countries and entities assessed. Looking at bilateral aid paid by countries only, the grand duchy ranked 12th out of 29 places.
QuODA assesses 17 criteria, divided into four different categories. Luxembourg’s best score was in the evaluation category, where it scored highly on its evaluation systems and results-based management systems. ....
