TORONTO, May 7, 2021 /PRNewswire/ - Hydro One Limited (Hydro One or the Company) today announced its financial and operating results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2021.
First Quarter Highlights
First quarter earnings per share (EPS) and adjusted EPS was $0.45, compared to EPS and adjusted EPS of $0.38, for the same period in 2020. The increase was due mainly to approved rates for the transmission and distribution segments, and higher demand because of colder weather, partially offset by higher depreciation, amortization and asset removal costs, and higher work program costs. ....

With federal relief package in limbo, state sends $600 checks to 40,000 Mainers

The state Department of Labor on Monday sent $600 emergency relief payments to 40,000 Mainers unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 
Announced earlier this month, Gov. Janet Mills authorized the payment under the newly created Pandemic Relief Program to assist unemployed Maine people facing substantial economic hardship as a result of the crisis, according to a news release.
We are pleased to announce the distribution of this one-time emergency relief payment to families across Maine,  said Laura Fortman, commissioner of the Maine Department of Labor. 
The one-time payment is intended for individuals who were likely to exhaust or lose their federal unemployment benefits. Eligibility for the payment was determined using existing, previously filed unemployment claim information. ....

(Ellsworth) – The next city manager for Ellsworth will likely come from in-house.  City Council chair Dale Hamilton tells Star 97.7 that the council discussed things in executive session Monday night and  offered the job to current police Chief Glenn Moshier.  Hamilton tells Star 97.7 they’re negotiating a contract and hope to have something in place next week.  Moshier has run the city since manager David Cole retired in September.  He was not one of the 18-people who applied for the job.

State delivers $600 checks to 40,000 jobless Mainers
The one-time payment will go to those unemployed because of COVID-19 as the state prepares to start new federal jobless benefits.

The state is sending a one-time payment of $600 to about 40,000 Mainers unemployed or underemployed because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Maine Department of Labor said Tuesday.
The payments were made with funds allocated from Maine’s share of federal money provided to states for coronavirus relief this spring. The payments are separate from the $600 checks that are expected to be distributed as early as next week to most Americans as part of a new pandemic relief bill approved by Congress Monday. ....
