GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The WASHINGTON men and women swept the Pac-12 Rowing Championships for the fourth consecutive time, continuing their dominant runs atop the Conference at the 2021 edition at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma on Sunday.
The UW men secured wins in all five of their events, winning their 40th Conference title overall with 72 points. The Huskies edged runner-up CALIFORNIA, which placed second for the fourth-straight year. The Golden Bears took second in all four events they raced in on Sunday morning. OREGON STATE was third with 47 points. The men’s field was rounded out by fourth-place STANFORD (42 points), men’s club champion WASHINGTON STATE (28 points) and OREGON (12 points). ....

2021 Pac-12 Rowing Championships return to Lake Natoma

SAN FRANCISCO After a two-year hiatus, the Pac-12 Rowing Championships will return to Lake Natoma and the Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, Calif., this Sunday, May 16.
Both of WASHINGTON’s men’s and women’s rowing programs captured Pac-12 titles in each of the past three seasons (2017, 2018, 2019). The Huskies have won two of the past four women’s NCAA championships (2017 and 2019), while CALIFORNIA took the title in the other two years (2016 and 2018). In the teams’ lone head-to-head competition in 2021, the Huskies took first in all but one race.
The Huskies are in top form entering the 2021 Pac-12 Rowing Championships, as the men’s team sits atop the IRCA Heavyweight Varsity Eight rankings, while the women are ranked No. 1 in the Pocock/CRCA Coaches Poll. Washington’s men’s team has not lost a Varsity Eight or second Varsity Eight race in 2021, while the women’s team has lost just one race. ....

This weekend, Cal men’s and women’s rowing are officially entering the championship stretch as they head to Sacramento to race at the Pac-12 championships. The Bears will look to perform well this weekend in hopes to gear up for their respective national championships: the IRAs for the men and the NCAAs for the women.
Both teams are coming off rather disappointing performances at the Windermere Cup in Seattle just two weekends ago. Of all of Cal’s men’s and women’s boats, only the men’s third varsity eight recorded a win over Washington in the Cup. ....

Rowing Announces 2021 Spring Schedule

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women s rowing team has announced its 2021 spring schedule on Wednesday, March 3. The Cougars will compete in six races this spring, which begins this Saturday, March 3, against No. 1 Washington at Lake Las Vegas.
The Cougars are set to take to the water for the first time in 490 days after the 2020 spring schedule was canceled by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Washington State enters the 2021 spring season ranked No. 19 in the Polack/CRCA preseason poll.
WSU kicks-off the 2021 spring schedule with a dual-race against the top-ranked Huskies at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada. It marks the first time since the 2017-18 season that the Washington State and Washington have raced against each other individually. ....
