Supervisor Concerned Over Keeping JFK Drive in Golden Gate Park Closed to Cars

A 1.5-mile stretch of JFK Drive in San Francisco s Golden Gate Park is currently car-free. It was created early in the pandemic to give people enough social distance as they exercised or walked the park, but with cases dwindling and the city reopening, some are calling for the closure to become permanent.
I would like to see it permanent there are definitely some things to be worked out, but I think it s a great start, said Alec Hawley, who frequently rides his bike through Golden Gate Park and is happy he can ride along JFK Drive without having to worry about cars. ....

1 motorcycle passenger dead after traffic collision on Bay Bridge, CHP says

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) A passenger of a dirtbike died at the scene of a multiple-vehicle collision on the Bay Bridge on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident happened just before 6 p.m. and two lanes of eastbound I-80 were shut down for almost hours Sunday evening, causing major delays.
CHP says the victim who died was a 20-year-old man who was a passenger on a dirt bike that was involved in sideshow activity on the bridge. The 20-year-old already had an injury that he got from an earlier accident.
Officials say after the first accident, he abandoned his first dirt bike and was picked up by another dirt bike. In an attempt to avoid arrest for driving the wrong direction on the bridge, they drove over a concrete barrier and the passenger was ejected onto the freeway and hit and killed by a pickup truck. ....
