Homeless man dead of hypothermia, cardiac issues | News, Sports, Jobs

LOYALSOCK Pennsylvania State Police and the Lycoming County Coroner have identified the homeless man found dead in Loyalsock Township.
Philip Steele, 67, of Danville, passed away due to a combination of hypothermia and cardiac issues, according to Charles Kiessling, the county coroner.
Steele had previously been admitted to UPMC Williamsport for cardiac issues in the past, according to Kiessling.
The man’s body was found by someone who saw it from the bike path, according to Kiessling. The deceased man was known to frequent the Market Street Bridge across the Susquehanna River.
Pennsylvania State Police said the death occurred on or around Jan. 8 or 9, and do not suspect foul play. ....

Pennsylvania State Police and the Lycoming County Coroner are investigating the death of a homeless man in Loyalsock Township.
Charles Kiessling, the county coroner, explained he is still in the process of reaching out to find the family of the deceased man, who was discovered on the bike path.
Kiessling is reluctant to decide the cause of the man’s death until he obtains the man’s medical records from UPMC Williamsport. However, he said it seems like a natural death, and could have been hypothermia.
The man’s body was found by someone who saw it from the bike path, according to Kiessling. The deceased man was known to frequent the Market Street Bridge across the Susquehanna river. ....
