When Brandon Steiner lived with an SU football player as a freshman during the 1977-78 school year, he became infatuated with this roommate’s team-issued gear. He enjoyed wearing it, too, often sharing with his roommate. His interest sparked a business idea. Steiner realized people were interested in exclusive gear that wasn’t as accessible. He was friends with many players on the football team, so he sold some of their gear to students. Steiner saw there was a bigger opportunity to sell memorabilia, something that wasn’t common at the time. Steiner founded his memorabilia company CollectibleXchange in the 1990s. ....
(Photo Courtesy of Syracuse Athletics) After taking down ACC rival Virginia Cavaliers by ten goals last week, the Syracuse Orange had to hold off a feisty Vermont Catamounts squad. They also won the ground ball battle (42-29) and went 20-for-22 in the clearing game while Syracuse went 23-for-28. Vermont also outshot Syracuse 55-32 and put 33 of their shots on cage. Syracuse put 29 shots on cage. Despite the edge that the Catamounts were able to gain throughout the course of the game, the Orange prevailed and secure the 17-13 victory. Stephen Rehfuss led the Syracuse offense with eight points (2G/6A) while Owen Hiltz had four goals and one assist. Drake Porter made 20 saves with a 60% save percentage. ....

Subscribe to our newsletter here. I am writing to you all today to voice my frustrations regarding having fans in the Carrier Dome. I first want to start this by applauding the efforts of Syracuse University in the midst of this pandemic. I have plenty of friends from back home who were not able to have in-person classes this entire year. I am thankful for the fortitude and effort that my university has had thus far to ensure some kind of in-person experience. When I was deciding on where I was going to attend college, I knew I wanted to attend a school with renowned sports teams and school spirit. SU fit the mold, and I now have fond memories of watching the classic Clemson upset, Tyus Battle’s game winning shot over Georgetown and Dom Madonna’s full field pass to beat Army in triple overtime. ....
Welcome to March. There’s no turning back now. Blowout Saturday featured a ton of one-sided affairs. We witnessed some Week Two results that didn’t correlate to Week One performance. Teams improve a great deal after their initial outing. March is about improvement. Strive to get better this week as a team, as a unit and as an individual. Same-day bus rides and empty bleachers conspire to snuff your spark. The fire burns from within, take a moment to connect with your why. Early in the year, this poll is more art than science or math. I try not to look at the other polls. Instead, preferring to watch games and talk to coaches. Film don’t lie. Groupthink is never profitable. ....
