Stamford Health and the City of Stamford Partner to Administer COVID-19 Vaccines to Community

In accordance with Governor Ned Lamont’s statewide plan, Stamford Health and the City of Stamford transitioned from Phase 1a to 1b on January 18, opening vaccination signups to additional priority groups.
Currently, the individuals included in Phase 1b are individuals from the general public over age 75, as well as other essential workers outlined by the state.

On borrowing from dormant accounts


The operationability of the fund is anchored on the 2020 Finance Act (Amendment) Bill signed on December 31, 2020, by President Muhammadu Buhari which provides that the Debt Management Office (DMO) shall supervise the operations of the fund.
The act, which has the commencement date of January 1, 2021, introduced significant changes to some tax and regulatory laws in Nigeria, including the introduction of COVID-19 incentives, alongside other changes.
The Finance Act 2020 Part XV, states that: “Subject to Section 44 (1) (h) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, there is established by the trust, as a sub-fund of the Crisis Intervention Fund, an unclaimed Funds Trust Fund.” ....

The Federal Government said yesterday it was still working on the type and and quantity of COVID-19 vaccines to procure when some other countries on the continent are already placing orders on the product.
For instance, countries such as South Africa, Senegal, Kenya and Egypt, among others, are expecting delivery of the vaccines in a few weeks.
However, the Finance Minister, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, who disclosed this yesterday at the 2021 budget ministerial briefing, said the federal government would seek ....
