CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. An off-duty police officer working for Urban Air Adventure Park used pepper spray in an attempt to break up a disturbance Saturday night at the Walden Galleria.
No injuries or arrests were reported during the 15-minute incident, according to Cheektowaga Police.
Shortly after the disturbance began around 8 p.m., the off-duty officer was on the scene. The officer used the pepper spray after those involved in the disturbance continued their disorderly behavior, Cheektowaga Police said. ....

UPDATE: Weather Service reports record rainfall in Rochester

Flood warnings and watches have expired or been canceled in the GLOW region as earlier flood waters have receded on a day the saw a record rainfall in Rochester.
Rain was continuing across the region tonight, though lood waters have receded and most of the previously closed roadways have reopened, the Weather Service said just before 7 tonight when the urban area and small stream flood warning was expired.
The warning include Genesee, northwestern Livingston, Orleans, northwestern Wyoming, northeastern Genesee, northwestern Monroe and Niagara counties.
Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat, the Weather Service said.
The flash flood watch that was in effect for much of upstate New York was canceled earlier tonight. ....

Saturday s wild weather has authorities warning drivers to use caution on the roads.
Amherst Police say flooding forced the New York State Department of Transportation to shut down the area of Maple Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. That intersection reopened about four hours later.
