Federal parties need new ideas to fight hate, says professor

None of Canada’s major political parties is bringing anything new to the table to curb the rise of hate crime in the country, says a professor of constitutional and international law.
The Liberal government has presented itself as the champion of diversity, equality, and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples since coming into power in 2015. It promised action in these areas, and repeated the promise in its latest throne speech, and even in the 2021 budget. ....
