Ohanaeze flays shoot-on-sight order against Igbo youths


Says it’s call for another genocide
Ohanaeze Ndigbo has condemned the “shoot-on-sight” order by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Nigerian military against protesting Igbo youths, warning that such was call for another pogrom and genocide.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation claimed that the alleged move would commence from Orlu, Imo State, in the next few days, adding that the secret plot was recently elaborated by a report ran by Sahara Reporters.
National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, stated yesterday that deployment of soldiers in Igboland recently confirmed the reports.

The Committee for Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) has said President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to security agents to shot anyone illegally bearing an AK47 rifle is dangerous to all Nigerians.

The Presidency said the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Thursday, emphasised his marching order to security chiefs to go harder on criminals, including shooting anyone found illegally with AK-47.
Buhari was quoted to have made the emphasis at a meeting with the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria at the State House, co-chaired by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar III and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, titled, ‘We Are Going to Be Harder on Criminals, President Buhari Tells Traditional Rulers…Restates Order that Anyone Found with AK-47 Illegally Be Shot.’ ....
