KAAL-TV Created: July 08, 2021 11:08 PM (ABC 6 News) - An Albert Lea man has entered a guilty plea after a deadly crash that killed another teen last August. 19-year-old Dominik Nikko Boots-Ringeon, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal vehicular homicide. According to the Freeborn County Sheriff s Office, deputies were called to 795th Avenue for a crash on August 27, 2020, where they found a car had hit a tree with two people ejected. ....

Created: July 01, 2021 03:27 PM (ABC 6 News) - The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Freeborn County Sheriff s Office, and State Patrol will be doing extra enforcement on the water July 2-4. The DNR and law enforcement will be looking for people who are boating while intoxicated (BWI) along with other boater safety violations such as overcrowded boats, speeding, and not enough life preservers for the number of people on board. If individuals are operating boats under the influence of alcohol or drugs, citations may be given out. We like to try and have our interaction with the public be educational but I think there s going to be times where someone will be issued a citation especially when dealing with alcohol violations, Freeborn Co. Sheriff Kurt Freitag said. ....

Blue-green algae can be toxic to both humans and animals, producing vomiting, diarrhea, rash, eye irritation, cough, sore throat, and headache. Symptoms generally begin hours to two days after exposure. The algae flourishes in warm, calm, sunny weather and water temperatures higher than 75 °F. The Sheriff’s Office says swimming in Fountain Lake is being allowed without restrictions but for more information on the risks of blue-green algae and how to protect yourself or your pet, click ....
