MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (WAFF) - A chunk of a business and more than a dozen boats were damaged in Colbert County during last week’s winter storm.
The weight of the snow caused a roof over a dock at Steenson Hollow Marina to collapse.
“I was standing right beside it when it happened, so pretty shocked,” said Owner, Keith Mullen.
Mullen said he had no idea the roof would buckle in the storm. ....

NTR acquires 54MW of co-located solar and storage in Wexford

Investor and asset manager NTR has acquired a 54MW portfolio of co-located solar and storage projects in Co. Wexford, Ireland from RES.
It is made up of two battery storage projects with a combined capacity of 25MW along with 29MW of solar PV. The solar projects were awarded 16-year Contracts for Difference (CfD) tariffs within Ireland’s first Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) auction in August 2020.
Co-located solar and battery storage projects can bring some “much-needed diversity of renewables technology onto the Irish grid,” said Manus O‘Donnell, chief investment officer at NTR, adding that combining the technology was particularly effective given the ability to share a grid connection and economies of scale. ....

Loch Ness pumped hydro developers win consent for 50MW battery project

Planning consent has been granted for a 50MW battery energy storage project in Aberdeenshire for developer Intelligent Land Investments Group (ILI Group).
ILI said in a press release sent to
Solar Power Portal that Aberdeenshire Council Garioch Area planning committee approved its proposed project at Fordham Farm in the Aberdeenshire town of Kintore, today.
The company began in residential property development before diversifying into clean energy projects, spending several years brokering land deals for wind farms. ILI said that it is planning a 1GW portfolio of battery storage in total, while CEO Mark Wilson said it has 250MW of battery storage already consented, as well as 300MW in planning and 500MW ....
