Solar Landscape Announces Green Ambassador Program and Scholarships for NJ High School Students
ASBURY PARK, NJ May 18, 2021 Solar Landscape, one of New Jersey’s leading solar energy companies, today announced that it has expanded its Workforce Development Program to include a Green Ambassador Program (GAP) for New Jersey high school and vocational/technical school students. As part of the program, Solar Landscape will award $20,000 in first-year scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000. Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students who complete the GAP and compete in a sustainable energy project competition.

They will generate a combined 2.9 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually enough to power more than 350 local homes and apartments and prevent more than 2,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere every year.
And the two solar projects in Teterboro and Pennsauken, delivered last week by Solar Landscape, will sell 51% of the electricity produced to low- and moderate-income households.
It’s all part of an ambitious goal by the Asbury Park-based company to deliver enough electricity to power more than 3,000 New Jersey homes for the next 20 years.
The two new community solar projects allow residents of Pennsauken and bordering townships, as well as all of Bergen County, the opportunity to participate in the benefits of clean solar energy without the need for solar panels on their rooftops, Solar Landscape officials said.

The first community solar project in New Jersey was launched last month, making a milestone in Gov. Phil Murphy’s stated goal of reaching 100 percent clean energy by 2050.
A partnership between Duke Realty Corp. and Solar Landscape, the project features more than 18,000 solar panels installed across the rooftops of four Duke buildings in Perth Amboy. The solar energy generated from the panels will be fed directly into the grid and then sold to more than 1,200 low- and moderate-income households.
