KINDRED, N.D. The St. Paul District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public comment regarding a draft environmental assessment of a proposed $8 million sanitary sewer upgrade in Kindred.
The project, which is covered under the Corps Environmental Infrastructure Assistance Program, would include the construction of new wastewater lagoons, upgrades to the existing main sanitary sewer lift station, installation of new sanitary sewer force main and decommissioning of existing wastewater lagoons, a news release stated.
The project would increase the city s sanitary sewer service capacity while remaining in compliance with environmental water quality rules, the release noted. ....

Corps of Engineers seeks input on Reno Bottoms forest restoration project
ST. PAUL, Minn. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, seeks public input on a potential forest restoration project to enhance and restore habitat in the 14,000-acre Reno Bottoms area, located in Pool 9 of the Mississippi River.
In lieu of hosting a public scoping meeting, the Corps has both a narrated presentation describing the project and an on-site recorded interview available at www.mvp.usace.army.mil/RenoBottoms/.
The team is developing and evaluating project alternatives and gathering public input on the project. It is anticipated that a draft report will be available for public review later this year with the final feasibility report completed in 2022. Suggestions and questions from the public are welcome. ....

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WKBT) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District is looking for people to weigh in on its draft environmental assessment of the Goose island cultural resource protection project.
The project, which is proposed for Pool 8 of the Upper Mississippi River, is intended to protect a section of shoreline of the island, which would preserve the archaeological site. The Corps is planning to put rock riprap onto the existing shoreline to combat erosion in the area of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. ....
