Sand Valley is thrilled to welcome Chef Michael Ponzio, executive chef of the Union League Club of Chicago, to the resort to prepare a traditional Chicago Italian dinner. Chef Ponzio is a heralded chef throughout the Chicago culinary scene with experience at such restaurants as Volare, Cenitare and the Rosebud Restaurant Group. He previously served as the Executive Chef of Medinah Country Club, a popular private club in the Chicago suburbs and host of the 2012 Ryder Cup. Chef Ponzio has traveled all over the country and to several parts of Italy and France studying everything from handcrafted pastas and pizza to gelato and regional delicacies. The weekend event begins with a welcome reception and meet and greet with Chef Ponzio on Friday night, followed by an Italian prix fixe menu with wine pairings on Saturday night.
