No guarantees over when Parkrun will return to Chelmsford, council warns
Chelmsford City Council says it cannot guarantee a resumption of Parkrun on the date that national runs are due to resume – despite pressures from the Government.
All councils in the UK have been urged to permit weekly Parkrun events to resume in their area. Organisers announced last week that they have delayed the planned return of 5km events in England until June 26.
But Chelmsford City Council says a Covid risk assessment for all large events – prior to further relaxation of restrictions on June 21 – is almost impossible and able to show that the risks could be controlled. ....

100 (not)parkruns during this Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to that, I had notched up
136 parkruns at
22 different locations, including one in
Italy (Florence). I even tracked an unofficial one down in Malta and ran that (but it doesn’t count!)

I’ve also run various 5km, 5mile, 10km, 10mile and a few half marathon races. And that doesn’t include joining the
Mid Essex Casuals (a running club) and running various trail events from 3 miles to 14 miles in various conditions from blistering sun to freezing cold, pitch-black, rain-lashing, windy, muddy nights and falling into ditches!
