IUPUC honors area nursing preceptors at annual meeting

COLUMBUS, Ind. – IUPUC’s Division of Health Sciences Advisory Council hosted its annual meeting virtually via zoom last Wednesday.
The event brings together community partners to acknowledge outstanding performances of IUPUC Nursing Student scholarship recipients as well as clinical site preceptor of the year recipients.
The Preceptor of the Year Award recognizes the integral part preceptors play in nursing education at IUPUC, and is given annually to volunteer instructors from each of the clinical partner hospitals in a six-county area who work with IUPUC students.
The 2020 Preceptor Award winners include:

Military disaster training set for Johnson/Jennings counties this week

BUTLERVILLE, Ind. – Officials at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center say an Army Reserve training exercise is taking place over the next three days at Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) that includes multiple military vehicles and aircraft. They say do not be alarmed and do not call 911.
U.S. Army soldiers are conducting emergency medical evacuation training with JMH in and around Franklin, this Wednesday through Friday. During the three-day exercise, area residents should expect to see multiple military convoys and aircraft operating between North Vernon, Edinburgh, and Franklin. Civilian emergency vehicles, including ambulances and police cars, may be included in some of the convoys. ....
