Career change? Legendary ex-jockey Jim Cassidy enjoying learning tricks of training trade Horses by Ray Thomas 8th Feb 2021 6:02 AM Hall of Famer Jim Cassidy, one of the all-time great jockeys, is considering a switch to the training ranks. Cassidy has been working at the stables of Randwick trainers Jim and Greg Lee who are keen for the riding legend to join them in a training partnership. After retiring from riding in 2015, Cassidy has been in demand as a guest speaker at sporting and corporate functions but conceded he has missed working with thoroughbreds and the rituals of daily stable life. ....
What happened to the analytical, forensic, critical thinking of the 2014 Yes movement? Collectively we could demolish any argument put forward by the No campaign through attention to detail; now I hear too many voices exhorting us not to look too closely, to overlook the fact that we keep being promised progress yet nothing concrete is ever delivered. I’d imagine that this new initiative will be more task farce than task force, and will disappear into the same cupboard as the mythical Rebuttal Unit. He told me there were only 15,000 tickets sold to that game, and he got three of them for him and his two buddies. He was so excited. Sadly, the three young men didn t make it to Nissan Stadium for the Titans-Ravens game on January 10. ....

Gert was born in Waterbury, CT November 15, 1929, daughter of the late Henry and Katherine (Conley) Cassidy. She was a graduate of Staasburg High School in Staatsburg, NY. Subscribe She grew up in a tight-knit family whose lives were deeply affected by the depression, the tragic deaths of their father and two spouses just as brothers were called overseas to serve in World War II, leaving mother and daughters to share financial and child rearing chores. Luckily, Gert liked to work and she was a quick study. As one of the thirty some employees at The Old Hundred, a wonderful ice-cream making plant started by neighbor Sam Green, she met Chet Hardisty, whom she married in 1953. They made their home in Woodbury and Gert started working at The Curtis House, alongside her husband and mother-in-law who owned the historic inn. She wou ....
