City continuing revisions to rental registration ordinance

CHEBOYGAN After hearing concerns from several city residents and landlords, officials from the City of Cheboygan are continuing their work of revising the city s proposed rental registration ordinance before bringing it to council for approval.
The ordinance revision committee formerly known as the city s blight committee has met several times to discuss and revise the rental registration ordinance. This committee includes City Manager Tom Eustice, Cheboygan Department of Public Safety Director Kurt Jones, Director of the Cheboygan Housing Commission Catherine Schulz and local attorney Jim Conboy.
During his report to the council members at their May 11 meeting, Eustice said he was going to schedule another meeting of that committee later that week to go over the ordinance again. ....

City close to finalizing rental registration ordinance

CHEBOYGAN Officials from the City of Cheboygan are nearing completion on the rental registration ordinance, preparing the document to come before the Cheboygan City Council members for approval.
At the Feb. 9 Cheboygan City Council meeting, Cheboygan City Manager Tom Eustice had provided each of the council members with copies of the draft rental registration ordinance and the vacation home rental ordinance.
The vacation home rental ordinance, it is an adopted ordinance, said Eustice. The rental registration ordinance is not currently. But we are in the final stages of that.
Eustice said there was going to be one more part of the ordinance that will need to be adopted, the registration fee. ....
