Man in court after attack on police Ritvars Meiers, 43, of Kirton Holme had admitted being drunk and disorderly and two offences of assaulting the police by beating when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court in May and the case had been adjourned for sentence and report from the Probation Service. Jim Clare, prosecuting, said officers went to the Moon Under Water pub on September 6 after reports staff had been forced to restrain a man who had sworn at staff and was aggressive after being refused a drink. Meiers refused to calm down and so was arrested but when he was placed in a police car, he raised his legs and kicked one of the officers on the forehead as well as missing a further three times. Meiers then aimed a forceful headbutt at the other officer, hitting him on the shoulder and side of his face. ....

Officers noted a “strong smell” of cannabis coming from the vehicle, magistrates in Boston were told last Wednesday (April 28). “A search was conducted and a rucksack found with three large bags of cannabis, with approximately one ounce in each,” said prosecutor Jim Clare. Phillipa Chatterton, mitigating, said her client accepted it was a relatively large amount but he used it to ease severe arthritis and didn’t like frequenting drug dealers often. “He doesn’t want to risk going before the court again so he’s stopped using it altogether,” she added. ....

She pleaded guilty to theft on December 3, 2020, when she appeared before Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (April 28). Prosecutor Jim Clare said Moore had paid for some items at the self-service checkout but not the other items valued at £186. He added: “As she was approached by security staff, some items fell to the floor. “They saw a male that joined her within the store and she leaves with him. “The police catch up with her and the rest of the items were recovered.” ....

An ex-partner of hers was arrested and bailed over the offences before police caught the person responsible – 30-year-old John Ogle. Boston Magistrates’ Court was told on Wednesday that homeless Ogle was friends with Miss A and had stayed at her home for several days in Spring 2020 but there was never anything sexual. ....
