KOENIGSSEE, Germany (AP) Kaillie Humphries got her second win in as many attempts in a monobob sled this season on Saturday, leading a gold-silver finish for USA Bobsled and Skeleton.
Humphries had the fastest time in both heats and finished in 1 minute, 46.75 seconds. She was 0.62 seconds ahead of Elana Meyers Taylor of the U.S., who took second for her first monobob medal.
Stephanie Schneider of Germany was third. Meyers Taylor trailed Schneider by 0.03 seconds after the first heat, then posted a second-run time that was 0.16 seconds faster than Schneider’s. ....

United States to return to IBSF World Cup circuit in Winterberg

United States will return to the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup circuit in Winterberg, which will see the first four-man races contested in 11 months.
United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation (USABS) announced in October its teams would not participate in the opening half of the World Cup season to ensure the safety of their athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their athletes have missed the opening four World Cup events.
Two-time Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries, who previously represented Canada, will be among the US representatives competing in Winterberg. ....

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) Olympic veteran Codie Bascue will be the pilot of USA-1 when USA Bobsled rejoins the World Cup circuit for the second half of the season next month.
Bascue earned that designation Monday night when the team announced the men’s national roster for the season after the end of a series of selection races. Geoff Gadbois was picked as the driver of USA-2.
Bascue won three of the four races in the series at Mount Van Hoevenberg.
There were nine push athletes selected for the team as well: Olympic returnees Hakeem Abdul-Saboor and Carlo Valdes are on the list, along with Adrian Adams, Kris Horn, Blaine McConnell, Boone Niederhofer, Charlie Volker, Kyle Wilcox and Josh Williamson. ....
