Children Give Their Cuddly Toys A Check-Up At Annual Teddy Bear Hospital Event This Weekend The Royal College of Surgeons has launched its annual Teddy Bear Hospital event
The virtual fundraiser sees children learn about their health while mending their toys and all proceeds go to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.
Vice President of the Paediatric Society, Colm O’Brien says while the project helps children become more comfortable in hospital settings, it also improves doctors bedside manner: There s people out there who are really uncomfortable, for want of a better word, talking to children. Events like these are really good for just having people in a much more calm, chill environment. It s no exam setting. It s not in a hospital per se. It definitely, I think, helps people s interactions.
