Owen Simon, Westinghouse and Group W PR Executive, Dies at 93 Cynthia Littleton, provided by FacebookTwitterEmail Owen Simon, a longtime PR executive for Westinghouse and Group W Productions, died April 2 in Los Angeles. He was 93. Simon was known for his savvy promotional campaigns on behalf of such series as “The Mike Douglas Show” and “The Merv Griffin Show” and other productions from Westinghouse’s Group W Prods. syndication division. Simon was also well-loved in the industry for his kindness and wit. When Simon retired in 1997 after a 40-year career, he told Variety he was looking forward to spending more time with his grandchildren. “With five grandsons, it seems time to start getting them in shape as a basketball team,” he quipped. ....

The verdict could make legal history and lead to a change in France s age of consent. Recent revelations of child abuse, incest and rape in France are in part a consequence of the 2017 #MeToo movement Corinne Leriche has been struggling to get a proper night s sleep for weeks. She has nightmares that jolt her awake and has developed a rash over large parts of her body. On Wednesday, a French court will decide if her daughter, known in media reports simply as Julie, will be recognized as a rape victim instead of a consensual underage participant. The outcome of the closely watched case could set a legal precedent by expanding the definition of child rape in France and give Julie and her family some justice after over a decade. ....

They came out here to visit my mom s parents. They came in September, and everything was nice and green and pretty, recalled Dennis Melcher, Ken and June s son and current patriarch of Melcher Family Farm in St. Paul. They found a place, and dad plunked down some money on the property and went back to Nebraska to sell the farm. ....

This event is cosponsored by Geri and Rocky Genovese, Julie and David Genovese, and The Depot Youth Center. Torchiana, a suicide attempt survivor, speaks at high schools, colleges, and conferences across the country about her mental illness journey. Rather than suffer silently as many do, Torchiana seeks to help others who also struggle with mental illnesses, by sharing her personal experience of suffering with post traumatic stress disorder, depression, and social anxiety, as well as overcoming a suicide attempt.
